Synthesis of a Steroidal Conjugate of Methylene Lactone, A Potential Anti-tumour Agent
Abstract
A novel steroidal methylene lactone has been synthesized for selectivity of action on hormone receptive tumours such as breast cancer. The design is based on tbc coupling of methylene lactone, a known alkylating agent with established gimmicky, to an estradiol derivative.
