Peer review
The journal employs a double anonymized review process where both the reviewer and author remain anonymous. This model offers several advantages:
- Author anonymity prevents reviewer bias based on factors such as the author's gender, country of origin, academic status, or publication history.
- Papers from esteemed authors are evaluated solely on their content rather than the authors' reputation.
However, it's important to note that despite these measures, reviewers may sometimes identify authors through their writing style, subject matter, or self-citations, making complete anonymity challenging to maintain.
The peer review process at the Journal of Science and Knowledge Horizons involves the following steps:
1. **Submission:** Researchers submit their work via the journal's website, adhering to specific submission criteria and guidelines.
2. **Initial Review:** The journal's scientific committee assesses submissions to ensure they meet the journal's standards. Papers failing to meet criteria may be rejected at this stage.
3. **Assignment to Reviewers:** Accepted papers are assigned to at least two expert reviewers in the same field for evaluation.
4. **External Review:** External reviewers evaluate the paper's validity, quality, and relevance. They provide feedback on aspects such as methodology, statistical analysis, and the strength of conclusions.
5. **Internal Review:** The scientific committee considers external reviewer reports and makes the final decision on acceptance, rejection, or the need for revisions. Authors may be asked to update or modify their work before final acceptance.
6. **Decision Notification:** Authors are informed of the journal's decision regarding their submission, including acceptance, rejection, or requests for revisions. Accepted papers proceed to publication details.
