Abstract

La Chloronychie est l’infection de l’ongle par Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Elle est souvent méconnue et traitée à tort pour une infection fongique.
Nous rapportons un cas localisé sur l’index gauche chez une patiente de 32 ans. Cette affection évoluait en poussée et atteignait un seul ongle.
Sur le plan clinique l’ongle était recouvert de croutes verdâtres. Le diagnostic reposait sur l’examen bacteriologique. La patiente a été traitée avec succès par la ciprofloxacine. Une pigmentation verdatre des ongles doit faire orienter vers une chloronychie.

Chloronychia is the infection of the nail by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is often misunderstood and mistakenly treated for a fungal infection.
We report a case located on the left index finger in a 32-year-old female patient. The condition was evolving in flare-ups and affected a single nail.
Clinically, the nail was covered with greenish crusts. The diagnosis was based on bacteriological examination. The patient was successfully treated with ciprofloxacin. A greenish pigmentation of the nails should point to a chloronychia.
