L’importance des activites informelles dans l’amelioration des conditions de vie des populations de la Ville de Bouake (Cote d’Ivoire)

Abstract

La crise militaro-politique qui a secoué la ville de Bouaké de 2002 à 2011 a entrainé la destruction des structures pourvoyeuses  d’emplois. Malgré le retour à la stabilité, la situation de l’emploi dans le secteur formel reste critique. Face à cela, les populations investissent dans le secteur informel pour améliorer leurs conditions de vie. Cet article vise à montrer le rôle décisif du secteur informel dans la création d’emplois et l’amélioration des conditions de vie des populations de Bouaké. Pour y arriver, nous avons interrogé des acteurs du secteur informel dans ladite ville. Il en ressort que, ce secteur, en dépit des problèmes reste un moyen essentiel pour la  création de richesse et l’amélioration des conditions de vie des populations à Bouaké.

English title: The importance of informal activities in improving the living conditions of the population of the City of Bouake (Ivory  Coast)

Bouake is emerging from a military-political crisis in which it has lost almost everything, particularly in terms of structures providing  jobs. Today, despite the return to stability, the city of Bouaké still remains in an expanding environment and the employment situation in the formal sector remains critical. Faced with this, populations are developing ways to be resilient to be free from poverty.  Consequently, the informal sector appears to be a godsend for its populations. More than ever, it is becoming a source of income and enabling them to improve their living conditions. The objective of this study is to show the decisive role of the informal sector in creating jobs and improving the living conditions of the populations of the city of Bouaké. To achieve this objective, we conducted a survey of informal sector actors in the city. It emerges that, despite the problems it causes, this sector remains an essential means for creating wealth and improving the living conditions of the population of the city of Bouaké.
