Contribution a l’etude des determinants socioculturels et economiques de la faible scolarisation des filles dans le departement du Couffo (Benin)

Abstract

Le Bénin s’est engagé depuis 2000 à réaliser la scolarisation universelle. Mais, les différentes mesures mises en place, notamment la gratuité scolaire, n’ont pas permis de corriger les disparités qui existent entre filles et garçons. Ainsi, dans le cadre de la présente recherche, l’analyse comparative des écarts des indicateurs d’accès à l’école a révélé que le département du Couffo dispose du plus faible effectif scolaire des filles. En effet, l’écart entre filles et garçons est très grand et les causes sont à rechercher. Dans ce cadre, l’objectif visé à travers cette recherche est d’identifier les déterminants socioculturels et économiques de la faible scolarisation des filles dans le Couffo.

La démarche méthodologique adoptée a consisté à l’élaboration des outils de collecte et son administration par les techniques variées sur une population composées d’hommes et de femmes de diverses catégories socioprofessionnelles.

Les résultats obtenus montrent que les facteurs explicatifs de la sous-scolarisation des filles sont multiples et les actions qu’il faut mener pour endiguer cette disparité doivent être englobantes. En tout état de cause, la sous-scolarisation des filles est fortement liée aux facteurs économiques et socioculturels.

English Title: Contribution to the study of the sociocultural and economic determinants of the low schooling of girls in the department of the Couffo

English Abstract

Benin committed himself carrying out universal schooling since 2000. But, the various measurements installation, in particular the school exemption from payment, did not make it possible to correct the disparities which exist between girls and boys. Thus, within the framework of this research, the comparative analysis of the variations of the indicators of access to the school revealed that the department of Couffo has the weakest number of pupils of the girls. Indeed, the difference between girls and boys are very large and the causes are with required. Within this framework, the goal pursued through this research is to identify the sociocultural and economic determinants of the weak schooling of the girls in Couffo.

The adopted methodological approach consisted with the development of the tools for collection and its administration by the techniques varied on a population made up men and women of various socioprofessional categories

The got results show that the explanatory factors of under schooling of the girls are multiple and the actions which should be conducted to dam up this disparity must be including. In any event, under schooling of the girls is strongly related to the economic factors and sociocultural.
