Abstract

The role of youth in driving socio-economic
development through technological innovation and
social change has become increasingly significant in
Nigeria. This paper explores how the innovative
capabilities of the youth population can be harnessed to
address socio-economic challenges, foster sustainable
development, and transform the country's socioeconomic landscape. It argues that the intersection of
technology and social change, driven by youth, presents
a critical opportunity for Nigeria to leapfrog into a more
prosperous and equitable society. The paper further
discusses the challenges faced by Nigerian youth in this
role, including inadequate access to resources,
education, and mentorship, and suggests strategic
interventions to enhance their impact. The study
employed a mixed-methods approach, combining
qualitative interviews with quantitative data analysis to
understand the subject comprehensively. The findings
underscore the potential of youth-led technological
innovation and social change as a pathway to socioeconomic development, calling for policies that support
and empower young innovators.
