Abstract

The ethanolic leaf extract of Croton zambesicus was investigated for pharmacological properties against egg white-induced acute inflammation, acetic acid induced writhing and yeast induced fever in rats. The extract (100-200mg/kg) showed a dose – dependent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic activities. These activities were lower than that of the standard drug (Aspirin, 100mg/kg). The leaf extract possess anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties which can be exploited in health care.
