Meeting The Information Needs Of The Rural Dwellers Through Public Library Services
Abstract
The public library has the most heterogeneous clients to serve. The services are directed to virtually every category of persons ranging from literate and non-literate, students, teachers, farmers, industrialists, doctors, bankers, civil servants, businessmen. It serves both the wealthy and the poor, the able and disabled This paper focused on meeting the information needs of the rural dwellers through public library services by giving an overview of the importance of public library services and emphasizes the need for such services to get to the majority of the population who are rural dwellers. And suggested that, the public library should repackage its services in order to reach this group of users in the future.
