Perceived Problems In Using Information And Communication Technology Usage Among Agricultural Change Agents

Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine perceived problems in using information and communication technology usage among agricultural change agents. Data was collected from respondents with the aid of questionnaire and administered to 57 agricultural extension agents of the Imo State Agricultural Development Programme. It was found that 59.60% of the respondents use ICT in executing their jobs, 77.20% of the respondents have ICT skills. GSM phone, computer, email, television, internet, chatting, web, and search engine were the major ICTs used. However, inadequate electricity, availability of materials, lack of funds, high cost of materials, limited access to materials, lack of technical know-how and effect of government policies were rated serious.
