Towards Improving Nursery Education Programme In Nigeria

Abstract

In recent years parents are eager to send their pre-school children to school. This eagerness could be attributed to their desire to see that their children obtain quality educxation from the tender age and also to be adequately developed. As a result of this the rate at which nursery schools are springing up in many parts of Nigeria has not been able to cope with this demand. However most of these parents and proprietors of this nursery schools are ignorant of what nursery education is. This paper therefore determines the areas of emphasis in nursery education, benefits from effective nursery education and the need to co-ordinate nursery education in Nigeria. Suggestions were made based on the conclusion.
