Road Transport Network Analysis In Port-Harcourt Metropolics
Abstract
Road transport network contributes to the economy of an area as it connects points of origin to destinations. The thrust of this article therefore, is on the analysis of the road networks in Port – Harcourt metropolis with the aim of determining the connectivity of the road networks and the most accessible node. Consequently, Graph theoretical measures were used to determine the road networks connectivity while the accessibility matrix T was used to ascertain the most accessible node. From the values derived by using the Graph Theory, the road networks in Port Harcourt metropolis are poorly connected and not compacted. The most central nodes are Rumuola and Garrison while the most accessible node is Rumuokoro.
