Network models in optimization and their applications in practice: A case study of Nigeria Bottling Company

Abstract

In this paper, Dijkstra’s algorithm was used to trace the shortest route in travelling from the plant to all the depots and then back to the plant. Critical path method was also used to determine the critical activities and the critical path. Knowing the shortest route to the depots saves the company the cost of transportation and time. Hence, network models lead to optimization.
