Congenital Uterovaginal Prolapse in a Multigravida: A case report
Abstract
Uterovaginal prolapse in pregnancy (UVP) is a rare condition. When UVP is found in a pregnant woman it could have been pre-existent or as a result of the pregnancy. I present a case of UVP in pregnancy which was pre-existent and has been present from the birth of the patient and through the first and second pregnancies. She presented with complaints of protrusion of a mass from her vagina. She was managed conservatively and had no antepartum complications. She subsequently had an repeat elective caesarean section with the delivery of a live male baby There were no post-partum complications. UVP was found to persist during post-natal evaluation. However, evaluation for possible repair of the prolapse was not possible as patient was lost to follow-up.
