Abstract

Technical analysis is a method for studying historical price data and movement available on price movement charts, it aims mainly to determine the appropriate price levels for buying or selling, that is, the possibility of determining entry and exit points on the technical basis, and assessing them on maps and technical indicators;

This research focuses on aspects of technical analysis techniques, as tools that can be used to making the decision to buy or sell in the daily trading in the S&P 500 stock index, using the data of some companies listed in the New York Stock Exchange.

The research confirmed the ability of technical analysis indicators to determine the appropriate time to invest in stocks, but they do not have any effect on the direction of prices, but only study them and predict their future trends, and therefore they play an important role in making the appropriate investment decision, nonetheless the investor who uses the technical analysis should not depend on one indicator, but he should rely on more than one indicator to confirm the appropriate buying and selling signals.
