Governance application and its role in improving the competitiveness of Saudi commercial banks: A case study of Riyadh Bank دراسة حالة بنك الرياض تطبيق الحوكمة ودورها في رفع القدرة التنافسية للبنوك التجارية السعودية
Abstract
This study aims to determine the role of applied governance in enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi commercial banks and to seek the nature of their relationship. This research relies on an analytical-descriptive approach. Questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection and distribution to the employees of Bank Albilad in Riyadh City, and the sample consists of 386 employees. SPSS program was used to analyze the data. The study draws a number of conclusions, the most important of which is that the application of governance across its dimensions can play a clear role in improving Bank Albilad's competitiveness. This leads us to conclude that the strength of competitive advantage comes from the proper application of governance principles. Banks can succeed and maximize the value of their investments in the market, thereby increasing their competitiveness, by carefully regulating the relationship between bank traders and defining the role of the board of directors in its various committees.
