Case Report: A 12 Year Old Boy With Palpitations And Ebstein\'s Anomaly.
Abstract
A 12-year-old boy presented with history of recurrent palpitations, dyspnoea on exertion and mild unproductive cough. Physical examination revealed a tricuspid regurgitant murmur. Chest radiography revealed marked cardiomegaly and electrocardiography demonstrated right atrial enlargement (p-pulmonale), right axis deviation (+1350), right ventricular hypertrophy, widened QRS complexes (156ms), non specific intraventricular conduction defects and ST-T wave changes. Echocardiogram showed apical displacement of the tricuspid valve (TV), with formation of an “atrialized” right ventricle and aneurismal right atrium. Echocardiography findings are consistent with Ebstein\'s anomaly, a rare but fascinating congenital heart disorder of the tricuspid valve. We hereby report this case because of its rarity in our environment.
