Abstract
Presenile dementia reflects an underlying pathology that affects the cerebral cortex, its sub-cortical connections or both occurring in persons below 65 years of age. In this study, a case report of a 41-yr old medical doctor whose mental illness spanned 8 yrs is presented. Initially he came with paranoid psychosis of the acute polymorphic psychotic disorder type; but later features became specific for psychotic depression. However in the last three months there was a dramatic turn towards dementia.
