Tracing Lines for violin and cello

Abstract

A three-movement work for violin and cello,Tracing Lines is typical of Robert Fokkens’s work since 2004. Initially inspired by the famous Xhosa bow-player Madosini, Fokkens has developed a compositional language which brings together techniques drawn from traditional Xhosa bow music with features from a range of other musics.
