In a prospective study of the prevalence of lymphatic filariasis in Amichi,

Results showed prevalence rate of 1.5% Stratification of gender further showed higher male prevalence [2.27%] than their female counterpart [0.89%]. This result was statistically significant at [P>0.01].Further stratification showed that age group 30-30yrs had more incidence of lymphatic filariasis [4.61%] than other age brackets, that is 10-19yrs [2.98%],40-49 yrs [1.96%] respectively and the rest 0% prevalence [20-29yrs,50-59yrs 60-69 yrs and 70-79 yrs]. Respectively the results also showed that the most frequent clinical manifestations are adenolymphagitis [0.75%],and lymphoedema [0.25%]. The low incidence of lymphatic filarasis is an indication of a healthy, living environment that does not allow vector breeding.
