Peer Review

Upon receiving a manuscript, the editor reads it and, in consultation with a relevant member of the editorial committee, selects two reviewers who are knowledgeable in the specific field or basic disciplines related to the research or review article. As Family Ecology and Consumer Science encompass a wide range of sub-fields and various basic disciplines, the editorial committee includes members representing different sub-fields within these areas. Two experts in the relevant fields are then asked to review the manuscript. The reviewers are not given any information about the author(s) of the manuscript.

Upon receiving the blind reviews, the editor sends these reviews, along with their own comments, to the authors. If the two reviewers have opposing views on the suitability of the manuscript for publication, a third reviewer is consulted for a final evaluation. When the amended manuscript is returned, the editor checks that the required changes have been made and ensures compliance with the technical requirements outlined in the author’s guidelines. Before the article can be published, the authors must provide a certificate from an accredited language editor confirming that the article has been language edited. The reviewers who contribute within a specific calendar year are acknowledged on the Journal’s website.
