Investigation on managing students' classroom misbehaviours using action research techniques in secondary schools in Awka Education Zone, Anambra State

Abstract

The study conducted an investigation on managing students' classroom misbehaviours using action research techiques in secondary schools in Awka Education zone of Anambra State, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive design. A sample of 481 teachers obtained through proportionate stratified sampling technique. Data was collected using a questionnaire titled Teachers Action Research Technique in Managing Students' Classroom
Misbehaviours. Data analysis was done using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The findings revealed that teachers used action research techniques in managing students' classroom misbehaviours. Consequently, it was recommended that since teachers' use of action research techniques has positive influence on the students' behaviour, they should consistently use them to ensure discipline which would  fundamentally lead to academic excellence among students.
