Emerging trends in the identification of gifted learners in Nigeria
Abstract
Identification of gifted learners has become unavoidable if they must achieve their potential. Thus, this paper focused on the justification of early identification of gifted learners taking into account the components of metacognition, creativity, and motivation. This is aimed at determining suitable and appropriate procedures, strategies, and techniques suitable for gifted learners identification. In addition, this paper discusses the concept of giftedness, the use of intelligence tests, and its challenges. Furthermore, the use of a multi-dimensional approach for identifying gifted learners in Nigeria was discussed
