Relevance of integrating Information Communication Technology (ICT) into programmes of teacher formation in Nigerian universities
Abstract
The paper examined the tool of Information Communication Technology (ICT), its relevance and the need to integrate it into teacher formation programmes in Nigerian universities. The paper defined ICT in pedagogical context and so established its implicatians in education management for teacher education. It acknowledged the challenges facing the Nigerian education system and in particular the universities in the use of ICT materials in the development of teachers. It was concluded that the relevance of integrating Information Communication Technology into teacher formation programme in Nigerian universities was not questionable. Hence it recommended that the barrage of problems confronting the communication tool need to be reduced significantly or eliminated for effective teacher formation.
