Abstract

Forensic evidence has for long been accepted globally and is widely considered infallible in the investigation of crime and the procurement of justice; however its utilization and development still appear to lag behind in developing countries such as Nigeria. Online sources published between 2003 and 2023. Data obtained show that forensic pharmacology is at best rudimentary in Nigeria. The need for advancement of forensic science and by extension forensic pharmacology cannot be over-emphasized in Nigeria. Legislation, technology, infrastructure, training and capacity building are necessary tools for the advancement of forensic pharmacology.
