Open access articles published in the Journal of Agriculture, Science and Technology are under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. The CC BY license permits commercial and non-commercial re-use of an open-access article, as long as the author is properly attributed.
Copyright on any research article published in the Journal of Agriculture, Science and Technology is retained by the author(s). The authors grant the Journal of Agriculture, Science and Technology with a license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher. Authors also grant any third party the right to use the article freely as long as its original authors, citation details and publisher are identified.
Use of the article in whole or in part in any medium requires proper citation as follows:
Title of Article, Names of the Author, Year of Publication, Journal Title, Volume (Issue) and page. Links to the final article on the JSRE website are encouraged.

The Journal of Agriculture, Science, and Technology (JAGST) is a peer-refereed biannual publication first produced in 1997. It features research articles in Agriculture, Biotechnology, Forestry, Human and Veterinary Medicine, Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, and Physical and Social Sciences. It also carries current scientific reports and, occasionally, reviews of publications with a scientific orientation.
The journal serves as an important tool in the mandate of the University’s Research, Production and Extinction (RPE) Division to facilitate dissemination of research findings.
The goal of the Journal is to:
- Provide a forum for the University staff and students, and researchers from the region and other parts of the world to participate in the discovery, transmission,
preservation and enhancement of knowledge in various disciplinary areas. - Contribute towards the University’s goal of integrating teaching and research for effective application and preservation of knowledge and skills.
- Provide a platform for sound academic discourse among researchers.
The Journal of Agriculture, Science and Technology (JAGST) (ISSN: 1561-7645) is a peer-refereed open access research publication and has been in circulation since September 1997. The journal is published by Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT), Kenya. The journal is published under an editorial board, which comprises nominated experts from varied subject disciplines, and which serves on and works on a three-year renewable term. The journal publishes original and high-quality research papers with properly documented results that have a major positive impact on Agriculture, Science and Technology.
