Subscription information
The Journal of Agriculture and Environment is published biannually, and the subscription rates are N 2,500 p.a. and N20,000 p.a. for individuals and institutions within Nigeria, respectively. For those outside Nigeria the rates are $45 and $100, respectively.
Peer Review
The Journal of Agriculture and Environment is an international journal which publishes biannually, scientific papers and short communications in all areas of agriculture and their interactions with the environment.
Research papers are reviewed by competent authorities in the relevant fields. A research paper is accepted on the basis of originality and contribution to scientific knowledge. The final decision on acceptance of papers for publication rests with the Editorial Board.
Once an article is received, the Business Manager will cross check the article formatting to be sure it’s prepared in line with the Author’s Guide before sending out for review. The journal adopts blind peer review system, where reviewers are selected based on the area of specialization either through recommendation of the Editorial Board or by application. Reviewers are given four (4) weeks to review an article, after which additional one (1) week will be considered (after sending a reminder to the reviewer) to complete the review process. In an event where one reviewer accepts the manuscript and the other rejects, a third reviewer will be considered and the decision about the manuscript will be taken thereafter.
Reviewed articles are normally sent back to authors to effect necessary corrections and observations raised by reviewers, and authors are expected to return the corrected copies within two (2) weeks. Immediately the corrected articles are received, the Editor-in-Chief will allocate manuscripts to various subject area editors for scrutiny and editorials in compliance with the recommendations of the reviewers. Thereafter, the Editor-in-Chief will do the final editing before preparing the manuscripts for typesetting.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Publication Scheduling
The publication is published twice a year.
