La metafora della malattia in Tosca dei gatti di Gina Lagorio
Abstract
Gina Lagorio’s narrative confronts important issues inherent in the existential condition: illness, solitude and death. This article focuses on Tosca dei gatti (1983) in an attempt to examine how the representation of illness becomes a metaphor for dignity and courage in life. In Tosca there is an ability to recognise, even in conflict and illness, the beauty of life. The thematic choice of illness and solitude challenges the status of illness as socially negative.
