Who reads what? Fiction reading by young people in South Africa
Abstract
In this article the findings of a survey into young people's fiction reading interests are presented and discussed. Although the survey took place in only one urban area of South Africa (Pretoria), the sample was representative and also sufficiently large to enable a degree of generalization from the findings. Comparisons are made with an earlier research project conducted in the United Kingdom on which this project was based. Differences in the findings of the two projects are noted.
