Abstract
The study evaluated the performance of the training and visit (T&V) extension management system in Owerri Agricultural Zone of Imo State, Nigeria. Data were collected with the aid of structured questionnaires administered to 60 randomly selected respondents from three Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the Zone. Data analysis was carried out using simple percentages and results showed that the key features of the T&V system were effectively implemented; pertinent issues in agricultural section were positively addressed by the system and lack of or inadequate participation of small-scale farmers in extension decision making was the major problems associated with the system. The study recommends full participation of farmers (both small and large scales) in extension decision making, maximum success to be achieved.
