Studies on floridiversity of Kebbi state, north western Nigeria, tropical West Africa
Abstract
This paper enumerated the outcome of floristic studies made into varied localities of the Kebbi State, Northwestern Nigeria, between October 2008 and March 2010. The collections were found to spread accross 45 families, 86 genera and 110 species of angiosperms. They were Acanthaceae 3 species, Aizoaceae 1 species, Amaranthaceae 8 species, Anacardiaceae 2 species, Annonaceae 2 species, Apocynaceae 3 species, Asclepiadaceae 2 species, Asteraceae 3 species, Bombacacae 1 species, Boraginaceae 2 species, Caesalpinaceae 7 species, Capparaceae 3 species, Casuarinaceae 1 species, Chenopodiaceae 1 species, species, Combretaceae 3 species, Commelinaceae 2 species, Convolvulaceae 5 species, Cuscutaceae 1 species, Cyperaceae 3 species, Euphorbiaceae 7 species, Fabaceae (Papilionaceae) 4 species, Lamiaceae 5 species, Liliaceae 1 species, Lythraceae 1 species, Malvaceae 6 species, Martyniaceae 1 species, Meliaceae 1 species, Mimosaceae 3 species, Moringaceae 1 species, Myrtaceae 4 specie, Nyctaginaceae 1 species, Nymphaeaceae 1 species, Oxalidaceae 1 species, Papveraceae 1 species, Poaceae 3 species, Pontederiaceae 1 species, Portulaceae 1 species, Rhamnaceae 1 species, Scrophulariaceae 3 species, Simaroubaceae 1 species, Tiliaceae 1 species, Typhaceae 1 species, Verbenaceae 3 species and Zygophyllaceae 1 species.
