Scope of the Journal
IJMBR publishes novel findings valuable to researchers in Clinical and Basic Medical Sciences. It also publishes valuable studies in areas of Biological Sciences related to health issues, Allied Medicine, Alternative and Complementary Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Medical Ethics and Medical Education.
Authorship criteria
Authorship should be based on considerable intellectual contributions to the following based on the recommendation of ICJME:
• concept and design of study or data acquisition, analysis and interpretation
• drafting or revising the article; and
• final approval of the version to be published
Copyright transfer form
The Journal's copyright transfer form and conflict of interest form must be duly signed during the submission process.
Submission of Manuscript
Manuscript(s) prepared according to the Journal's format should be submitted online via our user-friendly e-submission process on the Journal website, www.ijmbr.com, as a single file or alternatively submitted as e-mail attachment in .doc format to editor@ijmbr.com
Type of papers
The Journal publishes editorials, review articles, original articles, short communications, case reports, letters to editor and conference proceedings.
Manuscript structure
The manuscript should be written in English with simple lay out (12 font size, Times New Roman with double line spacing). Manuscripts should be organized as follows:
- Title (and a running title) with authors' names and affiliations, and corresponding author's e-mail address
- Structured abstract
- Key words
- Introduction
- Methodology
- Results
- Tables and figures (including images if any)
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgements and other relevant information such as source of fund, if any
- Conflict of interest
- References
Brief guidelines
Title Page
The title page should contain a brief title and reflect the content of the manuscript. Name(s) of author(s) and their affiliations be clearly stated. Authors' last names (surnames) with their initials should be written. Contact information for correspondence should be included (the name, full postal address, telephone number with country code, and email address). Abbreviations that are not universally acceptable should not be included in the title of the manuscript. A running title should also be included.
Abstract
The abstract should be informative and suitable to appear on its own. It should not exceed 250 words. It should be subdivided into background, aim, methods, results, and conclusion(s). For case reports, it should be subdivided into background, aim, findings, and conclusion(s).
Keywords
About 4-6 keywords should be provided immediately after the abstract. Abbreviations should be avoided; however, standard abbreviations may be used, if appropriate.
Introduction
This should contain a background information and brief literature, statement of problem, justification of the study, and aim of the study. Previous studies should be appropriately cited.
Methodology
Detailed information on the methodology should be provided. Established/published methods should be mentioned with references. Significant modifications of published methods and new methods should be described in detail. Statistical approach used in data analyses should be included.
Results
Results should be clearly described. Results for different parameters should be described in separate paragraph with table or figure numbers mentioned in parentheses for better understanding.
Tables and Figures
Self-explanatory tables and figures should be placed in the text under the result section.
Discussion
The discussion should provide adequate interpretation of data. The significant findings of the work should be clearly stated. Previous studies should be appropriately cited.
Conclusions
This should state the major findings of the study and how the study has contributed to scientific knowledge, with possible recommendations. It should be rational and based on the findings.
Acknowledgements
The acknowledgments of people and institutions that provided assistance during the study, manuscript preparation, and in funding of the research should be listed in this section.
Conflict of interest/Competing interest
All authors are requested to disclose any form of conflict of interest.
Reference style
References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text (not in alphabetic order). Identify references in text, tables, and legends by Arabic numerals in superscript. If the result is unpublished but has been accepted for publication in any journal, it should be cited as "in press".
The titles of journals should be abbreviated according to the style used in Index Medicus. Use complete name of the journal for non-indexed journals.

Charges
The Journal charges US $ 250 (for overseas authors) and N 25,000 (for authors from Nigeria) on accepted manuscript. Discounts may be granted for low-income countries.

Proofs
Galley proof will be sent to the corresponding author. Only typesetter's errors may be corrected; no changes in, or additions to, the contents of the edited manuscript will be allowed.
Published Manuscript
IJMBR will provide published manuscripts in PDF form. IJMBR aims to provide 'in press' manuscripts online as soon as manuscripts are accepted. DOI numbers are assigned to each article. PDF forms of published articles with volume and issue numbers, and DOI numbers are sent to the corresponding author.
Plagiarism/Fraudulence
Articles that are plagiarized or in any form compromise publication ethics will be retracted immediately from the Journal's contents. Articles by the same author(s) may also be removed. The author(s) may also be banned from submitting any content to the Journal. Author fees will not be reimbursed. We reserve the rights to take further legal action against the authors.
Errata/Corrigendum
Errata are published in the Journal. If an erratum represents the author's failure to pick up a mistake on the galley proofs, this will be noted in the erratum. A corrigendum may also be published.
Announcement
Announcements regarding scientific meetings, postgraduate courses, and seminars will be accepted for publication. To place an announcement, contact editor@ijmbr.com
Conference proceedings
