Sponsoring Organizations
Until now, this journal has not a real sponsor. It receives a very limited material help from the Tunisian Association of Anthropology (TAA). This situation was compensated thanks to the willingness of the Editors who have sacrificed to develop this journal and manage to maintain its stability, the quality of the articles, its technical quality, its internationalization, standardization and transparency. Therefore this journal could represent a model of volunteering or rather of voluntarism.
However, the ‘Centre National Universitaire de Documentation Scientifique et Technique’ in Tunisia, has just begun to plan to encourage international scientific journals developed in Tunisia.
Peer Review
This journal has a distinguished international editorial board that maintains high scientific standards (see above the section “Editorial board members”).
Each submitted manuscript sticking to journal guidelines is assessed by the Editor-in-Chief and / or an Editor or Associate Editor. Once it has been assessed for suitability, it will be single blind peer reviewed by a minimum of two anonymous expert referees in the area of study: they will assess the scientific basis and significance of the manuscript. After the reception of the two reviewers’ comments the Editor-in-chief (after possible consultation with Editor board member(s)) prepares a decision letter according to the comments of the reviewers. In this letter, the Editor-in-Chief determines if the manuscript should be accepted, requires revision, or is unacceptable for publication, and sends it to the corresponding author.
Editors and reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality of manuscripts during the peer-review process. Editors insist on selecting reviewers who have no conflict of interest and who could give objective judgments.
All non-reviewed manuscripts are sent back within about 12 days and the decision letters of manuscripts are sent within 5 to 6 weeks. All authors must have significantly contributed to the research and are obliged to participate in the peer review process providing retractions or corrections of mistakes. Final acceptance of a manuscript is based on the quality of the work particularly on its accuracy, originality and suitability for a broad international readership.
