Abstract

This study was designed to find out the composite and relative effects of teacher gender, qualification and experience on science teacher attitude to teaching. To this end, three research questions were proposed. The study analysed data collected from ninety-seven (97) science teachers from forty-three (43) secondary schools in Lagos State. Teacher Attitude Towards Science Teaching Questionnaire was designed to collect data. Data was analysed using multiple regression and t-test statistics. The total variance accounted for by the combined effect of all the independent variables on science teacher attitude towards teaching is 5.1%, which is not statistically significant. Out of all the three independent variables, only teacher qualification accounts for 4.8% of the total variance in science teacher attitude towards teaching, which is statistically significant.
