Women in triple roles and the accompanying stress in Nigerian context
Abstract
The study investigated some 311 Nigerian women in multiple responsibilities of leadership, home making and work. The need to sustain equilibration in family maintenance, which typified women participation in these multi-dimensional roles are not without their consequent stressfulness. The chi-square statistics was utilized for data analysis; at the 0.05 alpha level. The findings showed that age-differences of the focused group, religious conviction and family size do not affect the quality of their contributions to the overall survival of mankind despite the stress that accompany each role function. The findings imply that though the women folk may not be physically endowed as the men, the speed and zeal with which they excel in all human behaviour still needs to be studied.
