The Effects of Goal-Setting and Self-Efficacy on the Job-Seeking Behaviour of Unemployed Graduates
Abstract
The study investigated the effectiveness of goal-setting and self-efficacy on the job-seeking behaviour of unemployed graduates. The intervention strategies were crossed with gender as a moderator variable using pre- and post-test experimental control group design. Data analysis involved analysis of covariance and Scheffe post-hoc measures. The result indicates that there was a significant treatment effect on the job-seeking behaviour of the subjects. The treatment gain was however not mediated by the subjects' gender. The results indicate the need to help the unemployed sharpened their job-seeking behaviour.
