Library as An Agency for Conflict Resolution in Nigeria

Abstract

Libraries are non profit making institutions charged with the responsibility of organizing and disseminating information for the development of the citizenry in the country. This work examined the Library as an agent for conflict resolution in Nigeria. The study x -ray the concep t of libraries and information centres in conflict resolution. The researcher also highlighted the importance of the services of the library in conflict resolution and call ed for adequate funding and better organisation of the library to perform its statutory roles in enhancing conflict resolution. The authors made some recommendations as to what will help libraries to actually be an agent for conflict resolution in Nigeria.
