Accessibility to information in electronic era: a challenge to information providers

Abstract

In the present trends of electronic information era, there is increasing recognition of information for political, economic and social intercourse which has changed the perception of users about accessibility of information services. This changing perceptions of today's users ease of information services is the biggest challenge to information providers. Hence, there is the need to adopt users focused approach while providing information services in changing information environment. This paper highlights the concepts of information,information revolution era, the impact of information technology, challenges and the need for aggressive professional response for ease of access to information services in electronic era has been stressed.
