An assessment of the implemention of e-governance in Adamawa State Nigeria

Abstract

Information Communication Technology (ICT) has made things easier be it in education, health, business, information delivery ,governance and so on. Information communication Technology (ICT) is acceptable as a tool for meaningful industrial development all over the world. A sound egovernance relates to how efficiently and effectively government use it to carry out its various activities and improve to higher level. Thus, in Nigeria and Adamawa state in particular e-governance had been reckoned with as a channel of carrying out government activities efficiently for transparency and grass root emancipation. This paper therefore assesses the implementation of e-governance in Adamawa state Among the challenges revealed in the study include, poor funding, irregular electricity supply, high level of illiteracy and high cost of acquiring I.C.T facilities etc. It is also recommended that government should increase funding and provide alternative source of power supply among others.
