The role of library in sexual dysfunction management among ageing couples in selected local governments in Benue State of Nigeria

Abstract

This paper looks at sexual dysfunction problems among ageing couples as it leads to family problems such as family disunity between couples, shying away from responsibilities, drunkenness, battering and the like ; then the library information provision role to solve such problems and how far library in our community has lived up to its expectation to this regard. 175 library users and staff were sampled and mean and standard deviation statistics were used to answer research questions and Chi-Square was used for testing the hypotheses formulated. The findings show that library has done little in awareness creation and information provision and then suggestions were made that library should do more in terms of awareness creation and information provision to help alleviate this problem in our society.
