Youths and Governance in Igboland
Abstract
This paper examines the place of youths in Igbo systems of governance, traditional and modern. It argues that Igbo political philosophy and practice have always demonstrated profound wisdom and pragmatism; they recognize that simultaneously the years take something away from people while putting something into them. Among the Igbo, youth and age are perceived as Siamese twins and indispensable actors in the good governance of society.
