Author Guidelines

The Journal considers all papers on the strict condition that:
• The paper is original and does not duplicate any other previously published work, including your own previously published work.
• The paper has been submitted only to Ghana Journal of Higher Education; it is not under consideration or peer review or accepted for publication or in press or published elsewhere.
• The paper contains nothing that is abusive, defamatory, libelous, obscene, fraudulent, or illegal.
By submitting to Ghana Journal of Higher Education you are agreeing to any necessary originality checks your manuscript may have to undergo during the peer-review and production processes.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
• Manuscripts are accepted in Anglo-English („ise‟ not „ize‟). Any consistent spelling and
punctuation styles may be used.
• Please use double quotes where “a quotation is „within‟ a quotation”.
• Long quotations of 40 words or more should be indented without quotation marks.
• All authors of a manuscript should include their full names, affiliations, postal addresses,
telephone numbers and email addresses on the cover page of the manuscript.
➢ One author should be identified as the corresponding author.
➢ Please give the affiliation where the research was conducted.
➢ Please note that no changes to affiliation can be made after the manuscript is
accepted.
• Papers that are not accepted for the Journal may be recommended for publication in other publications of the Commission with consent of the author.
• Use „per cent‟ not the percentage symbol (%) in the main text; the symbol can be used in tables and figures.
Manuscripts Form
All manuscripts should be submitted electronically to nctepublications@gmail.com. Manuscripts must be submitted as MSWord documents; each should contain the name, professional title/institution (if any), and complete contact information for each author. Articles should not exceed 5000 words in length and should be double-spaced (including endnotes, references, and appendix) on A4 paper, one sided only. Pages should be numbered (bottom right corner).
Abstract
The abstract is a synopsis of (not an introduction to) the paper. It should not be more than 250 words long and should detail the essence of the article (its main argument and findings) in clear and unambiguous terms so that a potential reader knows what to expect. Summarising an entire article into so few words can be a challenging task. One way to approach it is to imagine being given 30 seconds to answer the following questions: “so what is this paper all about and why should I read it?”
Tables, Figures and Abbreviations
Tables, figures and abbreviations (where necessary) are to be provided on a separate page at the end of the article.
Notes
Notes explaining points made in the test should be indicated by numbering within the text and explained at the end of the main article before the reference list and not at the bottom of the page.
References
All works consulted should be listed at the end of each article under the headline REFERENCES. Authors should be listed alphabetically in the following order: surname, initials, year of publication, title of article, title of journal or book (in italics), and publishing house.
Notes on Contributors
Contributors are to provide a short profile of themselves. This should be not more than 100 words.
Review Process
Manuscripts are blind reviewed and are publishable only upon the favorable recommendation of at least three reviewers.
