Students Opinion Of The Services Of A University Library: The Case Of Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture Umudike
Abstract
Students' opinion of the services of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike library was investigated and analyzed, in order to determine what opinions students hold about the services of the library. The survey research method was adopted using random sampling technique to select the actual respondents for the study. The design is a case study. The major instrument for data collection was the questionnaire complemented with documentary sources. Structured questionnaires were administered to eight hundred students and all of them were retrieved and analyzed using simple descriptive statistics such as percentages. Results indicate, in the main, that library services do not meet the expectation and information needs of students. The library as a place of study is also required as not adequately satisfying the expectation of students. Recommendations were made based on these findings.
