Influence Of Fund Availability On Adoption Of Improved Agricultural Technologies Among Farmers Involved In The Special Programme For Food Security In Rivers State, Nigeria

Abstract

This study examined the extent to which availability and use of fund influenced adoption of improved agricultural technologies among different categories of adopters in Rivers State, Nigeria. Data were collected with the aid of questionnaire complimented by group discussion from a random sample of 150 farmers involved in the study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test and regression. There was significance difference between adoption of improved agricultural technologies and fund received because farm size increased with the aid of fund received from the programme. It is recommend that suitable technological packages be designed for farmers. Government should solidify and monitor SPFS for proper accountability.
