Abstract

This study investigated the impact of socio-demographic variables on psychoactive drug use among undergraduates in selected Institutions in Ekiti State. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used for the study. Eight hundred and forty-six undergraduates (846) were drawn from the four selected tertiary institutions. Data obtained was analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The result of the study showed that socio-demographic variables examined jointly predicted substance use by the undergraduates (F(13, 786)=2.424, p<0.05, R2 =0.039). The study concluded that socio-demographic variables significantly influenced substance use of undergraduates.
