La entomología criminalística en Cuba: proyecciones para su desarrollo The criminalistic entomology in Cuba: projections for its development

Abstract

Se ha hecho frecuente, en la última década, el desarrollo de investigaciones relacionadas con la sucesión de insectos que colonizan cadáveres. Se estudia y perfeccionan las descripciones de sus fases de desarrollo, con el objetivo de realizar estimaciones más precisas sobre el intervalo postmortem (IPM). Esta motivación surge a partir de la particularidad faunística de cada zona geográfica donde se desarrollan los estudios. El objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer la evolución de la Entomología Criminalística en Cuba. Mediante la recopilación de los resultados científicos, derivados de las investigaciones realizadas sobre fauna cadavérica, el conocimiento de los principales grupos de insectos recolectados en estos ecosistemas cadavéricos, su aplicación, la socialización de sus resultados y las proyecciones para su desarrollo en la Criminalística Cubana. Esfuerzos dirigidos al diagnóstico de esta entomofauna particular y a contribuir desde un enfoque biológico criminalístico, a perfeccionar el IPM.

The development of investigations related to the succession of insects that colonize dead bodies has become frequent in the last decade. The phases of its development descriptions are been studied and perfectionated with the objective to carry out more precise estimations about postmortem interval (IPM). This motivation arises starting from the particularity of each geographical area where the studies are developed. The objective of this article is to let to know the Criminalistic Entomology evolution in Cuba. By means of the summary of derived scientific results of the investigations carried out on cadaverous fauna, the knowledge of the main groups of insects gathered in these cadaverous ecosystems, its application, the socialization of the results and the future projections for the Cuban Criminalistic development. Efforts directed to the diagnosis of this particular entomofauna from a biological criminalistic focus to perfectionate the IPM has been made.
