Keeping Faith with Economic Reform
Abstract
In a rare glimpse of the policy direction of the present government led by President Umar Yaradua, the Minister of Finance Shamsuddeen Usman discusses the significant macroeconomic and structural reforms being put in place. According to him, the direction of the current administration is to sustain macroeconomic stability and deepen structural economic reforms, via appropriate sectoral policy measures that would enhance increased participation of the private sector in economic management, especially in the areas of infrastructure provision.
