Africa\'s oil and gas sector: Implications for U.S. Policy

Abstract

In this thought provoking paper, the author opines that Africa's oil producing nations are more at a geographical advantage to attract capital investments to the region to develop their energy resources than their Middle East counterparts; however, a major challenge they have to tackle is the creation of a more attractive investment climate, such as energy security, which is a paramount concern to oil-importers.
