Institutional Failure, Democracy and Development in Nigeria

Abstract

This paper focuses upon an examination of the set of factors that are responsible for the failure of the institutional frameworks for managing resources and hence development and democracy in Nigeria. It locates these factors in
the weaknesses in the ideological framework within which institutional choices are made, faulty institutional designs and corruption.
