Youth Unemployment in Nigeria: The Relevance of Vocational and Technical Education

Abstract

Vocational/technical education has been an integral part of national development strategies in many societies because of its impact on human resource development, productivity, and economic growth and development. Evidently, Nigeria has overlooked the importance of this type of education in providing life-long skills training to improve an individual's general proficiency for employment. The article sees this neglect as the missing link in the nation's development policy.
