Abstract

Royalty in Igbo traditional society is accorded inestimable prominence that every community in Igbo culture enjoys to be identified with such celebrity-oriented fraternity. This essay unravels the suitability and functionality of Nkwa music of Achina as a type of royal music genre, taken into consideration its socio-cultural context, the formational procedure, the instrumentation, organizational set-up and the analysis (of the Nkwa music).
